Dr. Cathy Wittman has joined Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Wittman, please call 743-2020 or to contact Dr. Wittman directly email cathy.wittman@ttuhsc.edu.  Dr. Wittman provides routine care, contact lens services for all types of contact lenses including keratoconic fits, post surgical fits, post trauma fits, and bifocal contact lenses, low vision exams, diabetic eye exams, dry eye exams, and exams for other eye conditions.  Dr. Wittman can also see special needs patients in her clinic including patients with autism, cerebral palsy, and mentally challenged patients.  Dr. Wittman can give an eye exam in English or Spanish.

Dr. Cathy Wittman provided eyecare to patients on the South Plains from 1998 to 2006 at her former location, Wittman Optometry, in South Plains Mall, and then from 2006 to July 25, 2007 at Ginter Eyecare Center.  She is DPA, TPA, and glaucoma certified, meaning she can practice at the highest medical level an optometrist can practice at in the state of Texas.

After growing up in El Paso, she started working in an optometry office in 1988 as an Optometric Assistant for Dr. Kent Comolli in Brownood, Texas.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Minor Area in Chemistry from Howard Payne University and her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry.  She completed externships at Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland and in the ophthalmology department at William Beaumont Army Medical Center on Fort Bliss under Dr. William F. Davitt, MD.  Dr. Wittman also gained experience in low vision at the Lighthouse for the Blind in Houston and in the low vision department of Houston Eye Associates.  She worked for Baylor College of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology at the Lions Eye Bank of Texas and for Transplant Research Foundation.  Her grand rounds presentation was on Secondary Glaucoma in Herpes Simplex Keratouveitis.  She has participated in several vision screenings including trips to the interior of Mexico and the San Blas Islands of Panama. She has served on the Board of Directors for Prevent Blindness.
